A reclining female figure; she has the essence of Henry Moore although Authur has never heard of him nor seen his work.
This is a lovely example of Authur's work and of the best of contemporary Zimbabwean sculpture - very simple elegant lines give the piece an uncluttered feel.
Springstone is the local name for a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is a particularly good sculpture medium, as it has a very even internal structure of small grains of rock; it is dense and has very few flaws.
