Zimbabwean Shona artist Benjamin Katiyo
Benjamin Katiyo

Benjamin Katiyo was born in 1970 in Murehwa, in eastern Zimbabwe.

His younger brother Royal is a well-known sculptor; in 1996, he introduced Benjamin to working with stone and they worked together for a number of years. The brothers later both became resident artists at the prestigious Chapungu Sculpture Village.
