The mother wanted to go out, but her daughter clings to her and wants her mother to stay with her.

While many Zimbabwean artists make representational sculptures with stale recycled themes and composition, Boet's work is fresh and dramatic.

Boet Nyariri is only the second artist ever to be awarded the accolade Best Sculptor twice in Zimbabwe's prestigious National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) competition.

Springstone is the local name for a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is a particularly good sculpture medium, as it has a very even internal structure of small grains of rock, and is therefore perfect for Boet's detailed style of sculpting.
