"When the sun comes up, everyone comes out looking for the sun, even if they're sad. It guides us through the day."

This is a lovely example of work by one of Zimbabwe's few remaining 'first-generation' sculptors. It would make a real statement, particularly with a dark backdrop and dramatic spotlighting.

Edward has signed it on the base.

'Domboshawa opal stone' is the local Zimbabwean name for a particular type of serpentine stone, a white variety of 'common opal' stone from the Domboshawa region north of Harare. Both types of 'opal' stone are relatively soft and are not recommended for outdoor display.
