"This is the honeyguide, a bird from the rural areas. People there know its song, and if you hear it, you look for it and follow it if it flies. Then it will sit and wait for you to catch up."

Man and bird carry on in this way until they reach the bees' nest that the honeyguide has found, and it waits for the human to open up the nest so it can eat the baby bees in the honeycomb that it can't get to by itself. How fantastic!

This glorious bright green stone is verdite. Verdite is a very hard and expensive semi-precious stone that is much prized by Zimbabwean sculptors for its beautiful deep green colour.

Edward has signed this piece on the base.
