A cheery fellow, just like Fanizani was himself. This is a lovely sculpture by the much missed Fanizani, in his instantly recognisable soft and quirky style.
The sculpture is accompanied by a photograph of Fanizani with the piece to guarantee authenticity - unfortunately, since his death, forgeries of Fanizani's work have been seen on the market.
It is part of a collection of sculpture bought by Guruve directly from the artist in 2007 - these are the last few pieces!
Leopard rock is the local Zimbabwean name for this very hard type of serpentine stone, typically coloured pale green and black.
