As usual, the circle denotes the head; behind is a bendy body, with the feet coming up on the right hand side. A gymnast who is very flexible.

Ishmael is one of our top young artists. His work is wonderfully abstract and uses a clever combination of angles and curves, shiny surfaces contrasting against matt white. We have promoted Ishmael since he was a teenager when we spotted talent even in his earliest work.

This is the first time Ishmael has used this stone (we supplied it to him from a secret source!) and he really enjoyed working with it. The small grains and uniform internal texture suited his style of sculpting perfectly.
