A flower with one unfolding flower bud, and two unfolding leaves below. The unfertilised flower represents a person living a solitary life; the two leaves represent their eyes, looking for a partner.

Itayi's instantly recognisable style is morphing into a properly three-dimensional approach to sculpture; early works in this new style have been a tremendous success and we have high hopes of more great things to come. This lovely piece is a super example of his new style.

Springstone is the local name for a hard variety of serpentine stone. 'Green springstone' is black with a green tinge. It is dense, non-porous and has very few flaws; it is suitable for outdoor display.
