The three flowers represent the heads of the family members, and the leaf wrapped protectively around them represents the bond between them and the way they look after each other.

Cobalt stone is the local Zimbabwean name given to this type of serpentine, which is typically a mixture of purple and green. It does not, as far as we know, contain any cobalt.
