Two chicks in a nest, preening each other's feathers. The birds are shown by the points representing their beaks, so they lean towards each other.

In recent years, Nesbert's art has developed in a very interesting abstract direction and these new pieces, with their utter simplicity and clean lines, are very pleasing.

Springstone is a very hard variety of serpentine stone. The black areas have been waxed and polished, the white areas have been rubbed with a fine rasp.
