'Lemon Opal' Stone
A compassionate lady, looking down with concern and tenderness.
A lovely small example of Nesbert's sculpture, with confident sweeping lines and the trademark delicate face. This a great entry-level piece for the budding collector, and would also make a lovely gift.
'Lemon Opal Stone' is the local Zimbabwean name for a translucent light green serpentine stone. It is becoming less common as the mine is running out, which is a shame.
It is of a similar hardness to springstone (i.e. a lot harder than what is known as common opal stone, which scratches easily like soapstone). It does NOT contain opals, sorry!
