An elegant bird waits patiently for her partner to return. Many bird species form long term partnerships, just as humans do, for raising their young and couples may stay together for many years.

The real star of the show here is the stone itself, and Peter has wisely kept his work simple to allow full appreciation of the beauty of the material.

Cobalt stone is the local Zimbabwean name given to this type of serpentine, which is typically a mixture of purple and green. It does not, as far as we know, contain any cobalt.
