A powerful bird lifts its head to look down on his subjects.

The real star of the show here is the stone itself, and Peter has wisely kept his work simple to allow full appreciation of the beauty of the material.

Cobalt stone is the local Zimbabwean name given to this type of serpentine, which is typically a mixture of purple and green. It does not, as far as we know, contain any cobalt.

If you find the signature intrusive we can apply a layer of wax and change it from bright white to the same colour as the rest of the sculpture, thereby hiding the signature without removing it.
