The circle at the back is a strong shoulder to cry on, it is supporting the front twist which is someone who has come for comfort.

Peter's work is always very abstract; he excels at expressing complex ideas through three-dimensional space with confident use of swirling and twisting lines, smooth surfaces and negative space (i.e. removing the stone altogether).

Springstone is the local name for a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is dense, with tiny grains, and has very few flaws, and is therefore the perfect medium for Peter's technically challenging style.
