A larger person (on the right hand side) is reaching down to play with or help a smaller person (left side); perhaps an older sibling playing with a younger one.

Technically, this style of sculpting is extremely difficult to do because great skill is needed to avoid breakages when removing the inner stone with a punch. Peter's sculptures are each created from a single solid raw stone - he rejects any piece that cracks during sculpting.

All the colouration in this serpentine stone is entirely natural, enhanced by the application of a coat of clear wax.
