The two lower rings are people; they are looking around, hoping to meet someone they like. From there, the movement comes up like a leaf. The colour of the stone is also significant, as green represents hope, so the new lead signifies growth, the start of a blossoming romance between the two.

Peter's work is always very abstract; he excels at expressing quite complex ideas through three-dimensional space with confident use of swirling and twisting lines, smooth surfaces and negative space (i.e. removing the stone altogether).

Springstone is the local name for a hard variety of serpentine stone. 'Green springstone' from near Tengenenge in northern Zimbabwe is black with a green tinge.
