The loops represent the heads of the couple dancing. The taller one at the back is the man, the more twisty shorter part is the woman. They are moving and turning through the air, and their dance movements are reflected in the energy within the sculpture.
The piece has such smooth, graceful movement, reflecting the flowing co-ordination of two dancers who are perfectly in tune with each other.
Peter's work is both complicated and very simple. He manages to convey a twisting, twirling movement while keeping the finishing very clean. The result is an intriguing sculpture combined with great technical ability.
