Clearly, the shape of the piece mirrors a rhino's horn. The holes denote ageing - not so much decay but the passage of time; the whole piece is about the history of rhinos in Africa, to give the viewer the sense that rhinos have been here such a long long time, so let's not lose them!

A very interesting and original piece by the winner of the Bernard Matemera Foundation 'Artist Of The Year' prize in 2009: Tanya's unique style has long been in a class of its own!

This unusual pale green stone is a rediscovered variety of serpentine that was a particular favourite of Brighton Sango.
