Exhibition of Contemporary African Art

In October 2002, we held our first exhibition of contemporary African art in London. It was our first opportunity to show the big sculptures, to hang the oils, the masks and the prints all together, and to create a stunning show. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped to make the show a stunning success.

We featured works by famous African artists alongside the names of the future. The exhibition brought together stunning Zimbabwean sculpture, vivid oil paintings from Uganda, innovative metalwork, limited edition prints and much more.
Our featured artists included:

• world-famous Zimbabwean sculptors Richard Mteki, Nesbert Mukomberanwa and Locardia Ndandarika
• powerful yet peaceful sculpture by our leading artist Newman Chikuni
• bold and colourful oil paintings by Godfrey Banadda of Uganda (also available as limited edition prints)
• ingenious metal masks by outstanding young artist Danisile Ncube
• selected major pieces by promising young artists such as Authur Manyengedzo, Kennedy Mkwanda and Ishmael Chitiyo
