Danisile Ncube

Danisile was born in 1970 in Zimbabwe. After finishing school, he studied fine art at Bulawayo's Mzilikazi Art and Craft Centre. His tutors included famous African artists Adam Madebe and David Ndlovu.

Danisile graduated in 1989 and began his career as a professional artist. He worked closely with sculptor Adam Madebe and began to specialise in metalwork. He has been a frequent exhibitor in the biannual Zimbabwe Heritage Exhibition at the National Gallery in Harare, being Highly Commended in 1998. Each year since 1991, Danisile's work has also been featured in the Visual Artists' Association of Bulawayo (VAAB) Annual Exhibition at the National Gallery in Bulawayo.

Since the mid-1990s, Danisile has participated in joint exhibitions in Australia, UK and Germany and had solo exhibitions in Bulawayo (2001-2003) and Harare in 2003.

In 2003, he participated in the prestigious Batapata International Artists' Workshop, where artists from all over the world experiment in different media and exchange ideas. He was also facilitator and curator of a sculpture workshop for young artists in Bulawayo.
