This is a very attractive medium-sized sculpture by Garrison. The features are delicate but defined, and it radiates calm.

The finishing is in Garrison's trademark style, using a rasp so that the surface of the face and neck is covered in small striations, which can be seen clearly in the photographs.

The hair is the rough weathered surface of the stone, as it was when dug from the mine. It has a warm colour and rough texture, which contrasts pleasingly with the rough yet smooth feel and the pale grey colour of the worked areas.
