Head
Garison Machinjili

Springstone

31cm (h)
29cm (w)
14cm (d)

£280

This is a really pleasing small sculpture by Garison. The features are delicate but defined, and it has a nice balance.

This elegant piece is finished with a rasp, so the surface of the face and neck is covered in small striations which can be seen clearly in the photographs. This creates an interesting surface that draws you back to touch it again and again.

Garison favours springstone, a particularly hard type of serpentine stone, as a sculpture medium. He combines different textures and finishes in the rough stone.
