A Time To Remember
Godfrey Matangira

Springstone

60cm (h)
30cm (w)
16cm (d)

15.5kg

£560

This piece is on loan to an exhibition at Exbury Gardens until July.

The girl is thoughtful, taking a moment of peace to think about old memories.

The waves of hair, cut precisely with a sharp chisel, stream away from her delicate face.

Godfrey spent a number of years as apprentice to Nesbert Mukomberanwa, and while his influence shows, Godfrey's work has moved away and is highly individual.

He is one of only a few new artists to join Guruve this year, the others being Tonderai Sowa, Liberty Tshuma and Victor Matafi.
