Whirlwind
Itayi Mupumha

Springstone

141cm (h)
48cm (w)
20cm (d)

111kg

SOLD

A multitude of eddies swirl the air on a hot dry day.

This graceful yet imposing piece represent a welcome return to Itayi's favourite style, with flowing lines and smooth surfaces working in harmony.

This has been a difficult year for Itayi, as he was knocked off his bike in August in a hit-and-run accident, and has been struggling to work since then with a broken and dislocated collarbone.

Springstone is a hard variant of serpentine stone. It is an excellent sculpture medium, as it has a dense internal structure with very few flaws.

Springstone is frost-resistant and is suitable for outdoor display.
