"Two people who are thinking different things and moving in different directions."

For a medium-sized sculpture, this piece has a real presence. Although it is slim, its height makes it quite imposing. Economy of line, so typical of the best of the contemporary Zimbabwean sculptors, keeps it feeling clean and uncluttered.

Cobalt stone is the local Zimbabwean name given to this predominantly purple type of serpentine. It does not, as far as we know, contain any cobalt but it may originally have been found near a cobalt mine. Nowadays, it is mined near Chiweshe, in northern Zimbabwe.
