Morgan was a finalist in the African Millennium Foundation's Young Sculptor of the Year 2006 competition. He was also selected to sculpt the trophies for the 2007 UN Equator Initiative Awards.

Morgan was born in 1974 in Mutare, eastern Zimbabwe, the second born in a family of five. He finished his 'O'-Level education in 1990.

After he left school, was inspired his father who used to carve canoes and drums. In 1994, he began to sculpt stone. Morgan was 24 years old when he began sculpting and he is self-taught in stone sculpture. He works mainly in fruit serpentine, a hard and colourful stone, to create his characteristic shapely ladies and abstract figures.
