One of the best small sculptures for this season, this piece is a wonderful reworking of and homage to Henry Munyaradzi's "Great Lion Spirit".

As the saying goes, all art comes from art. A young Zimbabwean artist's sphere of reference is not Picasso, Brancusi, Moore et al., no matter how much of their influence we may think we see, but the great Zimbabwean sculptors who have gone before. Henry Munyaradzi, Nicholas Mukomberanwa and Brighton Sango remain the most influential.
