Thinker
Munyaradzi Jeche

'Opal' Stone

54cm (h)
26cm (w)
21cm (d)

15.5kg

SOLD

A kneeling figure with chin resting on hand - a very abstract interpretation of the stylised roadside 'thinker', but the same idea as Rodin's. Very clever and impressive in a quiet understated way.

This lovely sculpture is the smallest piece by Jeche in this year's collection, and is for indoor display only.

Opal stone is the local Zimbabwean name for a relatively soft type of pale green serpentine from Mvurwi. It does NOT contain opals - beware of other sites whose ignorance leads them to suggest that it does, or that it is semi-precious, or that it is hard like the gemstone.
