This is the only large work by Nesbert left from our previous year's selection.

Although it is quite tall, it is a very intimate piece as the delicate face is best appreciated at close quarters. A perfect piece to surprise the viewer as they turn a corner an see an unexpected sculpture?

This work is a very good example of Nesbert's current style, using blockish slab-like pieces of stone and then softening their harsh edges with the use of swooping curves on the surface. To leave a little of the original raw stone, as Nesbert has done here on the top, is very typical of Zimbabwean sculpture as a whole.
