"Things sometimes happen that you can't prevent, though they might be sad, so you have to just deal with it."

Although this is not a huge sculpture, it is a real statement piece. Even from a distance, it's easy to see the sharp contrast between the rough textured hair, where the raw stone has been left more-or-less untouched, and the smooth and shapely head and neck.

The stone is known locally as 'cobalt' stone, and it is a kind of serpentine, typically mainly purple with splashes of pale green and yellow. It is not as hard as springstone.

We recommend a tall thin plinth for this piece (perhaps a metre or so), to make the face slightly easier to see.
