Mermaid Flower
Onias Mupumha

Springstone

132cm (h)
35cm (w)
14cm (d)

SOLD

The base of the sculpture is the mermaid's head, with her body extending upwards; the sweeping tail is also two leaves and the base is a flower bud.

This is a wonderful example of Onias' award-winning work, with flowing lines and smooth surfaces combined with clever and restrained use of contrasting textures, inspired by nature.

Springstone is the local name for a hard variant of serpentine stone. It is a very good sculpture medium, as it has a very even internal structure; it is dense and has very few flaws. It is frost-resistant and is suitable for outdoor display.
