Sisal Flower
Onias Mupumha

Springstone

117cm (h)
38cm (w)
22cm (d)

SOLD

The sisal plant is grown for its fibre for making rope. Its base is spiky like aloe or pineapple; when ready to flower, it sends out a spike that can be twenty feet tall.

This is a real statement piece and would look great in a garden. The clever use of textured surface creates a nice contrast and serves to highlight the contours and layers of the sculpture.

It is one of Onias' favourites, and he nearly entered it into this year's prestigious NAMA (National Arts Merit Awards) competition, before choosing Angel Trumpet. Tough choice!

Springstone is frost-resistant and is suitable for outdoor display.
