Perlagia was born in 1978 in Harare, Zimbabwe. She began sculpting in 2001, with Fanizani Akuda and then George Mubayi. With experience and confience, Perlagia sought to define her individual identity as a sculptor. She joined the Chitungwiza Arts Centre and has since established her reputation as the most talented young female artist in Zimbabwe's male-dominated sculpture movement. Perlagia works primarily in abstract forms, which, she says, give her complete freedom to express her ideas.

Recent exhibitions include:

• 2002 Winner of the Kristin Diehl competition for promising new Zimbabwean sculptors (sponsored by the German government), and she travelled to Germany to accept the award
• 2004 Award of Merit in the Young Woman Sculptor competition; participant of the 'In Praise Of Women II' exhibition, which toured the UK and Europe
• 2004 Artist in Residence for the Rice Lake V exhibition of Zimbabwean sculpture in Canada
• 2005 Artist in Residence at a group exhibition of Zimbabwean sculpture held at the Afrika Museum, Kadier en Kier, The Netherlands for three months. This was such a success that she spent a further 6 weeks there in the same role in 2006.
• Perlagia was also featured in the book, 'Journey from the Depths of Zimbabwe' by Caro Williams.
