The three verticals are symbolic of different ideas or choices, so it represents someone who is flexible in their thinking and can combine different ideas to make a new and better way of doing things.

Peter's work is always very abstract; he excels at expressing quite complex ideas through three-dimensional space with confident use of swirling and twisting lines, smooth surfaces and negative space (i.e. removing the stone altogether).

Springstone is the local name for a hard variant of serpentine stone. It is a particularly good sculpture medium, as it has a very even internal structure of small grains of rock; it is dense and has very few flaws. It is the favoured medium for Zimbabwe's most famous sculptors.
