"Someone who was very tense, not free, maybe in trouble of some kind, and who was tied up in knots. Now somehow the situation has improved and the ties are starting to loosen and the pressure is easing."

Springstone is the local name for a hard variant of serpentine stone. It is a particularly good sculpture medium, as it has a very even internal structure of small grains of rock; it is dense and has very few flaws. This piece is from a mine which has emerald-green veins in the stone.
