One-Eyed Face
Richard Mteki

Springstone

47cm (h)
21cm (w)
16cm (d)

£575

Using the contrast between the shiny and smooth polished surfaces and the pale textured surfaces is very typical of Zimbabwe's Shona sculpture movement, and this piece is quintessential Mteki.

This sculpture is in a hard type of serpentine known locally as springstone, from a mine where the stone has emerald green veins.
