Nesbert has stripped the sculpture back to the bare minimum needed to capture the essence of the birds. In his typical minimalist style, each head is shown by the point representing the beak with the necks craning upwards, and their bodies shared below.

This really is a superbly elegant and masterful work, and shows that original works of art can be affordable!

Springstone is the local Zimbabwean name for a very hard variety of serpentine stone. It is an excellent sculpture medium as it has a dense, even internal structure of small grains of rock and very few flaws.
