“A couple in a stable and flourishing relationship based on mutual trust.”
This is a lovely abstract work by one of the most exciting young artists working in Zimbabwe today. We can see echoes of Hepworth (though Antony’s work is all his own), in a sculpture that is deceptively simple.
As an added bonus, it’s very affordable for an original and unique sculpture, and would make a great gift.
‘Cobalt stone’ is the local Zimbabwean name given to this type of serpentine stone; it’s usually a mixture of purple and green. This lovely pale green variety comes from the Guruve area of northern Zimbabwe.
