This lovely abstract sculpture is a representation of the core family unit. Father and mother are suggested by the top loops. He is slightly taller, and inclines his head protectively towards his wife. Below, nestled protectively between them, the bottom loop represents their child.
A very accomplished reworking of the traditional roadside ‘dancing family’ theme, by one of Zimbabwe’s most talented young sculptors.
This intriguing sculpture would make a super focal point in a garden.
Springstone is a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is dense and impermeable; therefore, it is suitable for outdoor display even in colder climates.
This variety of springstone comes from the Impinge pass through the Great Dyke in northern Zimbabwe. It doesn’t shine to quite such a high gloss as other types of springstone, but it is exceptionally hard.
