This is a lovely example of work by one of Zimbabwe’s few remaining ‘first-generation’ sculptors. As an elder sculptor, much of Edward’s work is inspired by Shona culture.

This wonderful pale green, grey and pink stone is a hard variety of serpentine. It has a dense, even internal structure of small grains of rock. All the colouration in the stone is entirely natural, enhanced by the application of a coat of clear wax.
