This is a lovely ‘Fanizani‘ sculpture; it encapsulates his quirky style, so instantly recognisable.
Guruve is advertising this sculpture for sale on behalf of a private collector. Recently, we fully restored it, so it is in superb condition. Fanizani has signed it on the base.
The first owner of this sculpture bought it from the respected Matombo Gallery in Harare, Zimbabwe in August 1990. We have a copy of the first owner’s list of pieces in their collection, including Man Coming Out Of The Rock. There’s also a pdf image of the piece on display in the collector’s garden. The current owner acquired this piece from the son of that collector. Wonderfully, the original Matombo Gallery certificate of authenticity has stayed with the piece through all these years.
Detailed provenance adds value and peace of mind for any collector investing in major artworks. Happily, this piece is well supported.
