This sculpture is being advertised for sale on behalf of a private collector.
This piece was originally bought directly from Henry by the respected Matombo Gallery of Harare, Zimbabwe.
Matombo exported it to the USA for Henry Munyaradzi’s solo exhibition at Nicole Gallery in Chicago in January 1991. It was subsequently exhibited by Stark Gallery and Stone Spirit Orchard in Connecticut, USA (1991-1993) and the Atlanta University Exhibition (1994).
It was later (2002) purchased by a private collector and brought to the UK. It is now offered for sale by this collector through Guruve.
It is in immaculate condition. It is signed on the base. Matombo paperwork accompanies the piece, as well as Guruve certification.
Beware of less scrupulous galleries than ourselves selling non-authentic ‘Henrys’. Detailed provenance gives the collector great piece of mind when investing in major artworks, and this piece is well supported.
