“After hard work, we also need to relax. If you can look at how she is sitting, you can see that she is feeling at home and that her mind is easy.”
The composition is quietly self-contained and precisely sculpted: just what you’d expect from a young artist who trained with the late, great Joseph Ndandarika and is already well-respected internationally.
This is a lovely small sculpture by one of the best artists working in Zimbabwe today, and is great value for money as an original and unique handmade sculpture.
The stone itself is also very attractive – a particular variety of leopard rock serpentine, found near the town of Shamva in northern Zimbabwe, which is dotted with irregular circular spots filled with a golden mineral.
The piece is in the UK and will be shipped from there; P&P at buyer’s expense.
