Munyaradzi Jeche

The sculpture is inspired by the shape formed by a seedpod that has just popped open.

This elegant little piece is simplicity itself. Munyaradzi has pared back the lines of his sculpture to the minimum necessary, using the essence of natural form.

Lepidolite is a mineral of the mica group, containing lithium. This very hard stone comes from Bikita, one of just two sources in Zimbabwe. Crystals of mica within the stone glitter in the light.

Please note colour reproduction in the studio photos of this piece is a bit subdued – in reality it is a deeper purple like other Jeche pieces from his 2020 collection.
