Munyaradzi Jeche

“Two people tumbling, they are acrobats.”

Each upright is a body – the top one is upside down, supported by the person underneath.

Munyaradzi has almost flattened the stone into a sheet and wrapped it around itself, a very ingenious technique and interesting abstract idea. He is one of the best abstract sculptors working in Zimbabwe and deserves worldwide attention.

As with all of Munyaradzi’s sculptures, this piece has been sculpted from a single piece of stone. The brown and green lines are veins in the stone, and all the colour is natural.
