This sculpture represents a person’s head – the two holes above are the eyes, below is the mouth.

As a mediator, they go between two people who have had a disagreement and help find resolution. The mouth is very big as it’s like they are speaking in two directions at once.

A piece that reflects the consensual style of African decision-making, where people go to great lengths to find a solution to conflict that pleases both parties and avoids escalation.
