This sculpture is being offered for sale on behalf of a private collector. It is located in Copenhagen, Denmark and will be shipped from there; P&P at buyer’s expense.
The current owner’s parents acquired this sculpture in Zimbabwe, probably in the early 1990s. They bought it directly from Moses. They spent a lot of time in Zimbabwe in the 1980s and 1990s, making films about Shona sculpture. Moses appeared in one of their films, ‘Talking With Stones’, which was produced in the early 1990s. They also organised exhibitions of Shona sculpture in Denmark and Germany.
The sculpture is in excellent condition for its age, and has clearly been well looked after.
We have not inspected this sculpture in person. However, we are entirely satisfied with the description of its condition and its authenticity. This is based on the information and photos provided to us by the seller. We will provide a certificate of authenticity for the piece to the buyer.
