An abstract sculpture of a sleeping bird. The loop at the base is the bird’s neck and its head comes up and tucks under its wing. The wing is the sweeping kite-shape at the front.
This is the largest piece we have from Nesbert this year. It is visually striking from every angle, with strong confident lines and distinctive silhouette. Therefore, we think it would make a superb garden centrepiece or focal point.
So simple but powerful, the best of contemporary Zimbabwean sculpture holds its own on an international stage. Nesbert’s minimalist style has clean elegant lines and uncluttered simplicity. It has made him one of Guruve’ most popular artists, and this lovely sculpture is a super example.
Springstone is a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is suitable for outdoor display, as it is dense and impermeable and has very few flaws that might be exacerbated by frost action. All colouration and texture within the stone is entirely natural, merely enhanced by the application of a coat of clear wax.
Please note the granite slab shown in the photos is not included. However, we do have some polished round granite slabs (sparkly black or mottled grey) available for purchase.
