“The kudu is a very shy and gentle animal, a very innocent animal, so witchdoctors don’t use them and they have not been chosen as totems.”

This lovely sculpture encapsulates the essence, the spirit, of the kudu – one of Zimbabwe’s largest antelopes, with beautiful long twisting horns on adult males.

Nesbert’s confidence as a sculptor shines through here; this piece, with its clean and simple lines, is really striking.

Springstone is a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is suitable for outdoor display, as it is dense and impermeable and has very few flaws that might be exacerbated by frost action.
