The delicate features of the face hover over the surface of the ball of stone, and a dramatic sweeping line down the centre suggests long hair, perhaps in elegant braids.

Springstone is the local Zimbabwean name for a very hard variety of serpentine stone. It is an excellent sculpture medium as it has a dense, even internal structure of small grains of rock and very few flaws.
